High School Communication Arts Teacher
My name is Sara Ferguson and this is my second year of teaching. I am originally from Clever, Missouri (a small town 30 miles south of Springfield). I obtained a Journalism degree from Truman State University in 2001 and worked at various jobs, including one as a reporter at a local newspaper for two years, before I returned to school at the University of Central Missouri to obtain my teaching certification and Master's degree. I will continue to work on these degrees while teaching at Archie. 

Sponsor Duties
In addition to my teaching duties, I also serve as the Junior Class sponsor and as the High School Quiz Bowl sponsor. As Junior sponsor, I help students raise funds and plan for prom, as well as participate in Homecoming and Courtwarming activities. High School Quiz Bowl practices on Thursdays during the second semester only. We participate in several individual meets and in the WEMO Conference Tournament.

Courses
At Archie, I teach English II, English III, Creative Writing, Journalism and College English. It is important to me to impart the real-world knowledge I gained before becoming a teacher to my students. It is also extremely important to me that my students leave my classroom with a better knowledge of how to communicate effectively, whether in oral or written form.
